Porcelain Veneers
Chips, cracks, gaps, misalignment and discolorations in the front teeth can detract from the rest of your facial cosmetics. Today porcelain veneers can be easily placed over your front teeth and can painlessly correct these imperfections to help you acheive a magnificent smile. Veneers are thin custom lab made porcelain that is bonded to your teeth to accomplish a healthy, natural looking and beautiful smile in two visits.
White Fillings
When you need a small filling but don’t want amalgam in your teeth, direct resin or white fillings are the way to go. Their most obvious advantage is beauty – a well-done white filling can be indistinguishable from the natural tooth. White fillings can change the appearance of an older tooth, strengthen teeth, and more conservatively treat teeth – all things that silver fillings cannot do.
White fillings are bonded to tooth structure – this means they actually integrate with the tooth, thereby sealing the gap between tooth and filling and adding strength to the tooth; this allows for the more varied uses of resin beyond just regular fillings – like placing thin layers over front teeth to change their color, shape or general appearance; or repairing small chips of fractures in teeth; or even being placed in the grooves of teeth to prevent decay from ever occurring. Bonded white fillings are an extremely beautiful advance in the creation of fantastic and healthy smiles.
Dental Implants
What are dental implants?
Dental implants are artificial devices used by dentists to replace missing teeth. Implants come in many different sizes and shapes. Implants which rest on top of the bone are subperiosteal implants. There are also very narrow implants which are placed within the bone, and are called blade implants. Those implants which resemble the root of the tooth are called root from implants, and they are placed into the bone to act as support for a prosthetic crown.
Who Is a Candidate for Dental Implants?
If you’re missing one tooth or all of your teeth, implants may well be for you. So long as you have enough bone in the area of the missing tooth to facilitate the anchorage of the implants, this procedure can yield terrific results. If you don’t have enough bone for this purpose, a bone graft may be necessary. If you have a smll dental bridge or parial dentures (removable type), implants will be a welcome alternative. Implants are an alternative to a fixed bridge. The implant will last a lifetime, but the crown on top of it will last ten to fifteen years.
Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening, or tooth bleaching, is a cosmetic dentistry procedure designed to remove stains and dicoloration, as well as lighten pigmentation within the teeth. The level of whiteness that can be achieved will depend on the level of discoloration of the teeth and how they came to be stained. Teeth that are brown or yellow due to coffee, tea, red wine, or smoking stains will generally lighten four to five shades. Teeth that are gray due to pigmentation within the teeth will lighten two to three shades. Every case is individual. You are invited to come in to our office to see if you are a candidate for this proceedure.
Teeth whitening can be done in one of two ways: or at-home tooth whitening kits provided by a cosmetic dentist. Both of these methods are done under a dentist’s supervision so that the chance of negative side effects is reduced.
Porcelain Crowns
When a tooth is cracked, decayed, or damaged, a dental crown may need to be fitted onto the tooth. A dental crown is a permanent covering that fits over the original tooth. Crowns can be made of porcelain, gold and other metals, acrylic resin, or an amalgam (a mix) of these materials. Porcelain crowns typically have the most realistic appearance, although they tend to be less durable than other materials. Dental crowns can whiten, reshape, and realign existing teeth, adding to a healthy and vibrant smile.
Permanent Bridges
Tooth loss, significant decay and fractures can dramatically affect your appearance and make you look older. Today’s crowns and bridges are more beautiful than ever before. You do not have to worry about metal showing if your gums recede. We can strengthen your weak tooth from breaking with a natural look.
When a tooth is missing, adjoining and opposing teeth tend to tilt or move into the available space creating significant bite problems, decay, gum disease and unflattering appearance. having a bridge, which replaces one or more teath, will prevent this occurance and help keep your smile for a lifetime.
Full-Mouth Restoration
Full-mouth restoration involves restoring the teeth, bite, and muscles back to a natural looking and youthful-feeling condition, making sure function and esthetics are in conjuntion. With full mouth restoration, we can utilize a combination of cosmetic dentistry techniques, including porcelain veneers, porcelain crowns, dental bonding, and teeth whitening. Using computerized technology and an artistic eye, full-mouth restoration may be the answer to many problems, such as heat sensitive teeth, sore jaw muscles, and recurring headaches.
As we age, we tend to wear down our teeth due to bruxism (grinding). We often suggest that patients wear bite appliances such as niteguards or retainers to prevent such, as well as preventing tooth movement that can occur.
Porcelain Onlays
It’s a dentist-fabricated replacement of one or more cusps of your tooth. We provide this valuable service because we feel they are much more conservative than a full crown.
They are beautiful, feel as natural as your own tooth and last 15-20 years!
